Diary

Our personal, real, secret diary ... is only for us to read. But since I still want to share my experiences with you, here's my online diary.

21st January 2017

Where on earth have 3 weeks gone?

I resigned from my full time sales job and became a builder's labourer, stripping kitchens, cleaning grease, excavating a concrete floor and experiencing an exploding toilet!

Had to take refuge back in my kitchen today, never happier than when I have a knife in my hand, and relax.....

1st January 2017

New Year New Keys!

Somewhere over the rainbow, skies are blue and dreams that you dare to dream, really do come true.

Off now to take measurements and smash up the existing kitchen!

30 November 2016

Yay!!!! we have a date, wow wow wow - such a roller coaster of emotions.

We will be all hands to the pump the second we get in, now is the time to secure those contacts and suppliers.

Christmas may be low key for us this year, but 2017 will soon be here - so excited, what is hard is listening to others views on how and what we should do, taking advice but at the same time remaining focussed on what we want to achieve.

26 November 2016

Beyond frustrated ..... we may have to wait even longer than we anticipated to open, if passion was to be measured I know from our reactions today just how passionate we are about our Bistro.

The thought of having to hold off for anything longer than a couple of months is too much.

We will continue to hold the faith that all will be OK........

Sourcing ..... Equipment
When a trip to the cash and carry takes on a whole new thought process....

Baking trays...... a heavy duty baking tray makes me breathe a little bit heavier, when looking at the prices, my mental arithmetic breaks it down, adds margins and comes up with the selling price automatically!

Wish lists have increased, quality of linens and glassware will not be compromised....

Our menus are currently being created and tested, what are your favourite dishes? are you a sweet or savoury person? share your thoughts and dream dishes by email to:  info@catherines-bistro.co.uk

We have spent time resourcing, testing and testing again items to be used at Catherine's Bistro.

Here in Rochdale we are really lucky to have great artisan suppliers on our doorstep.

Our menus are currently being created and tested, do you want to be added to our invitation list for sample testing evenings? just email info@catherines-bistro.co.uk

We are expecting....... news of our lease
After a long time waiting patiently (and sometimes not so patiently) we have been given news that the lease is up for discussion.

Still a very long time to go and a lot of work, but now we can begin to put the wheels into motion.

Time to get the action plans honed and ready to go, this is scary but everything I have dreamed of.

Build a website fast
A friend spoke to me about my website today. His father runs a doctor's surgery and wants to introduce himself to patients online. He wanted to know if I knew a way to put together a website quickly and simply, even if you've never done it before.

If I can do it - anyone can no need to spend thousands..... what do you think?
